This is money! Celeb Chef Guy Fieri adds his flair to revamped Disney Springs restaurant

Orlando Business Journal - The Buzz

Anjali Fluker

Shut the front door!

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri is teaming up with Planet Hollywood to bring some of his Food Network flavor to a reworked restaurant in Disney Springs.

Orlando-based Planet Hollywood International Inc. on Aug. 18 announced Fieri will introduce specialty menu items - a "flavor-packed" burger and sandwiches - to the new Planet Hollywood Observatory, a redesign of the existing eatery set to mirror the transformation of the surrounding Disney Springs dining-shopping-entertainment complex.

The redesigned restaurant is set to open this fall, said a news release.

"Guy Fieri has created an impressive culinary empire and has built an incredible TV following with several food-themed shows, so it was a no-brainer to invite him to create a special menu for Planet Hollywood Observatory," said Planet Hollywood International founder and Chairman Robert Earl in a prepared statement. "This partnership only furthers our commitment to refresh our guest experience while continuing to offer freshly-prepared, pleasing dishes."

Earl, who also stars in his own Cooking Channel show "Robert Earl's Be My Guest," said he reached out to Fieri because of their shared passion for food. Learn more about what Earl had to say about this project in Orlando Business Journal's previous interview.

Fieri - chef, entrepreneur and New York Times bestselling author - will add his signature "authentic-meets-surprising flavors" to Planet Hollywood Observatory's new dishes, including the Prime Time American Kobe-Inspired Burger and the Turkey Pic-a-nic Sandwich, the release said.

"It's awesome to be working with Robert Earl and the Planet Hollywood Team," Fieri said in a prepared statement. "For the Planet Hollywood Observatory, I'm bringing a big time burger and sandwich menu with real deal flavors for everyone."
